about

This song is inspired by a lot of my frustration at many of the sitting justices that have specifically no regard for a woman's right to take care of her own health and generally no regard for equal rights for women. While I could have done this in the name of several of the current justices, I chose to do it for Antonin Scalia because, in my opinion, the combination of his political influence and macho, originalist conservative rhetoric makes him the biggest threat to the women's movement.

lyrics

what's yours is not yours
it's come down from high court
you don't own yourself
it's your personal hell

no no i'm sorry you can't
yeah it's your body but his consent
no no i'm sorry you can't
because you're a woman it's up to a man

what's yours is not yours
it's come down from high court
you don't own yourself
it's your personal hell

no no i'm sorry you can't
it's your life but it's up to him
no no i'm sorry you can't
until you rise up and make a stand
