about

Slurry Lake is inspired by a majority ruling for which Anthony Kennedy wrote the majority opinion. In the case Coeur Alaska v. Southeast Alaska Conservation Council, the supreme court ruled in favor of Coeur Alaska determining that the disposal of slurry from area mines could be legally deposited at the bottom of a lake and it is there by not considered polluting a body of water -- a ruling devastating to the conservation of this state's and, in precedent, this country's bodies of water.

lyrics

thanks for bringing your mess to my town / i see you bringing your mess to my town / you come from away where your kids are all safe / thanks for bringing your mess to my town / smart men hide it in the bottom of the lake / they send it to the bottom of the lake / out of sight out of mind it's under water we'll be fine / so go put it in the bottom of that lake / the moose and calf had to be shot / stuck ears deep and had to be shot / like struggling in quicksand they tried but they couldn't / they were drowning and had to be shot / i hope it's worth the gold that you found / i hope it's worth whatever you found / then again you come from away where your kids are all safe / i hope it's worth whatever you found

about

While rooted in folk, the soundscapes in which Nashville artist/producer Josh Fuson tells his stories vary from intimate vocals over an acoustic guitar to lush arrangements of soaring keys, weaving electric guitars, and anchoring drums and bass.
