about

He was such a book worm as a child that kids at summer camp would give Stephen Breyer the name "Blister King". His mother strongly encouraged him to get into athletics so that he may be a more rounded child (which he seemed to take to the extreme when he got arrested for under-age drinking at Stanford). Also referenced in this song are his surprising opinions in favor of corporations over individuals and his almost categorical distaste of government regulation.

lyrics

blister king
who wants to hear about your tender feet
you'd always rather go home and read
but your mother had to push you on to the field

blister king
sticking up for the corporate hacks
getting the government off their backs
how would your mother feel about that

blister king
while the country works to make a home
their future rises and falls with your every vote
don't tell them their struggle is a joke

blister king
get out on the field
